Intimacy comes in many forms and is a little different for everyone. If someone seeks intimacy from you, whether that means sex, touching, or even taking a photo, they should ask and you should feel comfortable and safe to say “no”.

When talking about consent, we should move the conversation towards asking for a “yes” rather than looking for signs of “no”. This can change the dynamic of these interactions, where asking becomes sexy and healthy rather than a necessary “barrier” to intimacy. It also makes it easier for consent to be an ongoing conversation — rather than one “yes” meaning that additional consent is not necessary.  (The Hotline)
